Bali Mynah

Leucopsar Rothschildi
Recognizable by its vibrant white color, the Bali mynah has black tipped wings and stands about 6-10 inches tall.
The Bali mynah is one of the rarest birds in the world and is listed by the IUCN as critically endangered, numbering as little as 25 wild individuals in 1998.
They are native only to the Indonesian island of Bali where their habitat of dry monsoon forests has been reduced to little more then 10 percent of their historic range.
These beautiful birds are managed by a Species Survival Plan (SSP) whose goal is to maintain genetic variation; with over 800 birds managed globally, captive birds greatly outnumber their wild relatives.
