Goeldi's monkey
- Callimico goeldii
- Goeldi's monkeys can be found in the northern Amazon forests of South America.
- They are dark brown or black in color. Some Goeldi's monkeys have white areas on and around the face.
- Goeldi's monkeys weigh 13 to 31 ounces and are typically 1 to 2 feet in length.
- Their diet consists of fruits, insects, and small vertebrates.
- During the first 2 weeks, the mother carries the young. The father then carries the young during the third week, due to weight of the young.
