Grey-necked Wood Rail

Aramides Cajanea
This elegant rail is olive green to brown with red legs, a grey-blue neck and head, and a vibrant yellow bill.
They inhabit swamps, mangrove forests, and other swampy areas from Mexico through to northern Argentina.
Feeding mainly at night, these birds eat crabs, insects, worms, seeds, and nuts.
Males care for the 5-8 offspring that are born after an incubation of 20 days.
