Mexican Blind Cave Fish

Astyanax Mexicanus Mexicanus
The Blind Cave fish is named for what it lacks, eyes. They have an amazing ability to navigate adeptly by bouncing sound waves off objects around them.
The skin lacks pigmentation, taking on a pink color from the blood vessels beneath the skin.
Females are often larger and plumper than males.
Mexican blind cave fish originated in deep caves in Mexico, where the lack of light and predators have made vision un-necessary.
They often live five or more years.
