Mexican Porcupine

Sphiggurus Mexicanus
The Mexican porcupine weighs between 3-6 pounds and is covered in brown-gray fur that hides its long quills.
These rodents usually feed on fruits and seeds, but will also consume leaves, flowers, and buds.
Using its prehensile tail to grasp branches, the Mexican porcupine is an adept climber of the high elevation forests of Mexico and Central America
Little is known about their reproduction in the wild, but a litter typically consists of one precocial offspring that has fur and soft quills which soon stiffen.
