Ocelot

Ocelot
Leopardus Pardalis
The ocelot can be found as far north as Arizona and Texas and can be found as far south as Argentina where it inhabits tropical forests and scrublands.
Being fairly small cats at 15-30 pounds, they feed mainly on small rodents, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
The biggest threat to ocelots has been overexploitation for their fur, even though trade of their skins was banned in 1975.
They are one of the many SSP species that the zoo keeps in the collection.
