Rhinoceros Iguana

Cyclura Cornuta Cornuta
This massive bodied relative of the green iguana is much less showy with its color and markings exhibiting a brown-grey body color.
They feed mainly on leafy vegetation, flowers, and fruit.
This species is native to only the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, but it has been introduced to other tropical islands and is quite common in captivity.
It gets its name from the fleshy "horns" that grow at the tip of the nose.
Habitat destruction and hunting for food and the pet trade are the rhinoceros iguana's biggest threats.
