South American Red-footed Tortoise

Geochelone Carbonaria
These brightly colored dome-shelled tortoises reach lengths of 12-16 inches.
They inhabit tropical forests and moist grasslands of South America.
The South American red-footed tortoise's diet consists of mainly fallen fruit, mushrooms, various leafy greens, insects, and even carrion.
They are protected under Appendix II of The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) which means that their international trade is regulated and limited.
