Spectacled Owl*
- Pulsatrix Perspicillata
- The spectacled owl is a fairly large bird with a wingspan of 3 feet.
- Its name is derived from the black "spectacles" around its yellow eyes.
- They are locally common to the edges of dense mature tropical rainforests from Central America south through Brazil.
- Owls are expert nocturnal hunters because they have excellent low-light vision and asymmetrical ears that help them localize sounds made by prey.
