Yellow-headed Amazon

Amazona Oratrix Oratrix
As with other amazons, this species is an elegant shade of green with a yellow head and red-orange marks on the upper wings.
They are native to Central America through South America.
This arboreal species has zygodactyl feet, which means two toes face forward and two toes face backward which help it climb.
They have been listed by the IUCN as endangered since 1994 due to a 68% decrease in population in just ten years.
