Corporate Matching Gift Programs
Many corporations match gifts made to charitable institutions made by their employees, their spouses and retired employees. Contact your human resources department to see if the Palm Beach Zoo would be a qualifying organization, and if so, obtain your matching gift form and send it to us with your donation. Once we receive it, we will notify your employer of your gift.
Stocks and Bonds
If you donate stock that has risen in value and that you have held for more than one year, you can deduct its fair market value up to 30% of your adjusted gross income and owe no capital gains taxes from its transfer to the Zoo.
Real Estate
If you own property that is not subject to a mortgage and has appreciated in value, a charitable gift to the Zoo is an attractive option. This type of gift entitles you to two benefits: first, you avoid paying capital gains; and second, in most cases, you receive a deduction for the full value of the gift.
