Volunteer Opportunities at the Palm Beach Zoo
If you are enthusiastic about animals, enjoy interaction with people, and you are at least 14 years of age, then you belong in the Zoo! Volunteers are required to have a negative TB test taken within the last year, as well as be able to make a commitment of two four-hour shifts per month. Volunteers are welcome to come in from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. every day of the year except Thanksgiving & Christmas Day.

Special Event Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals & Groups
We have opportunities for individuals as well as groups who can spend a few hours or days helping with special events and projects. Special events are held several times throughout the year. Areas you might assist in include but are not limited to: prize booths, soda carts, arts & craft tables and so much more! Dates for our 2008 Special Events are listed below!

Volunteer Teaching Guide/Docent Program
The Palm Beach Zoo in partnership with Forest Hill Community High School's Adult Education Program announces the Volunteer Teaching Guide (aka Docent) Training Course's which take place every Fall and Spring. This seven week course focuses on zoology, wildlife conservation, history of zoos, customer service, public speaking, and presentations. The course take's place weekly, during Fall and Spring Semesters, on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Palm Beach Zoo!
